Performs geologic field reconnaissance and mapping to document site conditions, identify geologic hazards, and assess overall site characteristics.Collects, compiles, and analyzes geologic data, including geologic maps, aerial photos, LiDAR/photogrammetry, construction records, and other background document information.This role involves working on and managing multiple small- to medium-sized projects and/or moderate-sized tasks within larger projects. You will apply a broad technical knowledge of principles and practices. Project work performed includes geological and geotechnical investigations, rockfall evaluation and mitigation, wildfire and storm damage assessment and repair, geologic hazard evaluation including fault and seismic source characterization, geotechnical and structural instrumentation, and water conveyance inspections (canals, tunnels, penstocks, etc.). Our Geotechnical/Dams & Hydraulics Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project Geologist to join our California team, either in our Roseville, Oakland, Los Angeles, or Irvine office.Īs a Senior Project Geologist, you will primarily support hydroelectric clients and their related projects by planning, designing, organizing, and performing geologic investigations to characterize and evaluate geologic/geotechnical conditions and identifying geologic factors that could impact the design, construction, and/or long-term performance of engineered structures.
